Taking security beyond the
competition |
All
data transmissions—to and from your ShadowDocuments account—are
secured with 256-bit encryption technology, the same level of
security utilized by the most-trusted financial institutions.
The encryption process prepares data to be securely transferred
over a network, such as the Internet, in a manner that it is
unintelligible to all but the intended recipient
ShadowDocuments leverages financial-grade encryption technology
using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol, authenticated and
verified by Verisign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN), GeoTrust or
Register.com (Comodo).
We go a step further, beyond simply encrypting your data as it
travels over the internet from our servers to your browser.
ShadowDocuments adds yet another layer of security and peace of
mind to protect your business information: server-side encryption.
ShadowDocuments | Business plans are equipped with the best-available
server-side encryption:
256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). We employ the
Rijndael cipher and algorithm, the same method approved and
adopted by the National Security Agency to secure top secret
information and data for the U.S. Government.

Competitive solutions don't server-side encrypt. |
Your data in ShadowDocuments. |
When files are uploaded to your account, they're encrypted
with 256-bit secure socket layers (SSL). Upon reaching our servers, the data
is SSL-decrypted but then re-encrypted again with the 256-bit AES
server-side algorithm. So even at rest, your data is still
encrypted.
The reverse occurs when downloading.
First, data is AES-decrypted, then encrypted with SSL as it
streams to your computer where the browser decrypts the
information.
