Email alerts, indicators
help track new or changed content |
|
In a multi-user, collaborative environment there have to be
mechanisms in place to inform users when documents or
files are available, when a new version has been uploaded or if
something has been moved.
When you grant users access to new information--be it an entire
box-folder-file structure or just a single file--for any number
of users, you want them to be aware of it. And ShadowDocuments
automatically alerts does this by delivering email alerts to the
user(s).
ShadowDocuments goes beyond simply sending email alerts.
Items within the
web-based interface are marked with small, color-coded icons to
let you know the status of the content (e.g. new container, new
file, moved item, new version, etc). It also keeps up with
changes to the organizational structure of the boxes, folders
and files. This is an important feature when collaborating within a multi-user environment.

Smart indicators
show new/changed content. |
If an account administrator or
other user, with appropriate permissions, were to move a folder
or file which you had access to, how would you know it was
moved? And how
would you find where it was moved to?
ShadowDocuments also includes more advanced notifications for various content-changing conditions such as
new file version or when an item is renamed, moved or deleted.
For example, in the circumstance when files are moved by another
user (with the authority to do so), you'll receive a content
notification that states a move has occurred. Details are
provided as to the affected files, the old location and the new
location. Additionally, when you sign in, the smart indicators
help to easily identify the files.
